Fleur solitaire à l'extrémité d’une hampe radicale, à spathe simple, persistante; périanthe tubuleux, filiforme, très-long, à limbe court, partagé en six divisions égales; douze ou dix-huit étamines, disposées en six faisceaux égaux; ovaire infére; style filiforme; stigmate trifide; fruit capsulaire, renflé, recouvert par la spathe persistante.
