1. Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne, Vicomte de Tnrenne (1611-1675), one of the greatest Gênerais of modem times. After gaining victories with the Great Condé, he found himself opposed to him in the civil strife of the later stages of the Fronde, and was victorious. He met his death at the Battle of Sal/.bach against the Germans.
