75. Sur rÉconomie politique comme science exacte, 9 juin 1823 (Hansard, n. s. IX, 816: An hon. memher for Bristol hadtalked about political ecocomy ; but the vsords « political economy » had, of laie, become terœs of ridicule and reproach. They were used as a substitute for an argument. — Cf. n. s. IX, 380-381, 21 mai 1823 : The hon. member for Weymouth had observed, that the petitioners knew nothing about political ecoDomy, the principles of which seemed to change every t\?o or threeyears. Now, the principles of true political economy never changed.~ 24 déc. 1819 (Hansard, XLI,p.l576) : If the profits of capital were higher, and labour more productive in other countries, it could not be doubted that capital v\ould be transferred to those countries; no proposition in Ëuclid was clearer than this.
