I. Past participles conjugated with être agrée with the subject in number and gender.

Elle est sortie.

IL Past participles conjugated with avoir agrée in number and gender with the direct object, provided this précèdes the verb.

Voilà la belle montre qu'il m'a présentée. {But, Il m'a présenté une belle montre.)

Exceptions.

I. The past participle of an impersonal verb is never inflected.
