Princ. of Pop. 1re éd., chap. v. pp. 95 sqq

39. Titre de la seconde édition : An Essay on the principle of population ; or, a view of its past and present effects on human happiness; with an enquiry into our prospects respecting the future removal or mitigation of the evils which it occasions ; a new edition, very much enlarged. — On consultera, pour la comparaison des deux éditions, « Parallel Chapters from the first and second editions of an essay on the principle of population, by T. R. Malthus, 1798 : 1803, New-York et Londres, 1895.
