20. Tiens ! il n'y a qu'une course ! — Why, I hâve only got one place to go to, or one tramp to take. Course means a walk, ride, &c, taken on account of business. It may often be translated errand.

22. Il n'y a pas de quoi être si fier. — There is no occasion for being so proud about it. This use of de quoi is guite similar to that explained in note 5 of XXIX.
