Cannes, a city of S. £. France, on the Mediterranean

and Pau, a city in the S. W., north of the Pyrénées, are both favorite health resorts, especially in the winter. The beauty of the situation of Cannes, and its lovely climate, make it a most attractive spot, but to many, especially to those who love mountain scenery, Pau is equally attractive.
