Théophile Piry, who has developed the service to a remarkable degree of efficiency, will be retaned as administrative head with adequate powers. The staff will be given the option of returning to the Customs or remaining in the service, where they will be guaranteed similar treatment as regards pay, retiring allowance, and furlough.
