The Tao or conduct of man, adapted to the Order of the Universe. Morality consists of shang or cardinal virtues, created in man by the Universe. In particular it is the li, social laws and rules of life, ceremonies and rites, religion. The Confucian Classics as bibles of the Tao. Orthodoxy and state persecution.

The universalistic principle of justice, unselfishness, compliance, tolerance, indulgence, abnegation, dispassion, quiescence, inaction or wu wei, taciturnity, etc.
