ELEMENTARY FRENCH READER

A collection of interesting and instructive short Stories, adapted for use in Middle Class Schools, with a complété French-English Vocabulary.

At the request of several leading members of the Scholastic Profession I hâve undertaken to compile an Elementary French Reader, suitable, on account of its price and contents, to Middle Class and other Schools. The matter contained in this book will afford ample scope for the teach er to exercise his pupils in conversation and elementary translation, while the bold type chosen will make it more pleasant to read.

The Vocabulary gives every word in the text, the plural of nouns and adjectives (when formed other wise than by the addition of s), and the féminine of ail adjectives, thus avoiding the need of a dictionary. For purposes of reference, I hâve added a list of regular and irregular verbs.

I trust this little volume will answer the purpose I had in view when compiling it, and meet with the approbation of Teachers.
