THE SHEPHERDS' SONG

Adapté du français ce ‘‘Ça bergers, assemblons nous”?, pour le chœur de St Bridget d'Ottawa.)

Up, shepherds! assemble all

To greet God's humanity !

Hark! the Angels’ trumpet call Resounds o'er dale and city;

Let us seek, within Bethlehem's walls This wondrous human Deity.

Let our herds be forsaken 4

Let them at random wander ;

Let us all, with intent unshaken.

Hie to the stable yonder ;

Hasten to view Heaven'’s own token FA Of God's love’s greatest wonder.

Within Mary's virgin arms, Or in the lowly manger,

His weakness may shield us from all harms,

From sin, our direst danger.

Men of good will, discard all alurme, This child is vour Avenger.

Dominus Prope Est.
