962. MORSE (Rev. Jedidiah). A Report to the Secretary of war of the U. S., on Indian affairs, comprising a Narrative of a tour performed in the summer of 1820, under commission from the president of the U. S. for the purpose of as-certaining for the use of the government the actual state of the Indian Tribes in our country. New-Haven, Davis et Force, 1822, in-8, cart. 3o fr.
400 pp., portrait d’un Indien, carte coloriée.
Document très-curieux et difficile à rencontrer. « A translation of the 19 th. psalm into
the Muh-he-con-nuk language, done at the Comwal school, under the superintendance of Rev. John Sergeant, missionary » se trouve aux pp. 359-360.
« This is certainly the most complete and exhaustive Report of the condition, numbers,
names, territory, and general affairs of the Indians, ever made . They are the result of the
indefatigable labors, of a humane and learned man, who personally visited, and investigated the affairs of many of the tribes enumerated.... » Field.
963. MORSE (Jedidiah). The American Geography; or, a view of the pre¬
sent situation of the U. S. of America : containing astronomical geography. Geographical definitions, discovery, and general description of America and the U. S... With a particuliar description of Kentucky, the Western territory and Vermont. London , John Stockdale, 1792, in-8, rel. 10 fr.

964. MORTON (Nathaniel). New England’s memorial. Fifth edition. Con¬
taining besides the original work, and the Supplement annexed to the second edition, large additions in marginal notes, and an Appendix ; With a lithographic copy of an ancient map. By John Davis. Boston , Crocker and Brewster , 1826, in-8, demi mar., avec coins, doré en tête, non rogné. 40 fr.
titre de « A Narrative of the troubles with the Indians in New-England .

Note mss.

In the Spring, 1780. Philadelphia, Printed : London : Reprinted by James Phillips, 1790, pet. in-8, cart, non rogné. 3o fr.
