An ordinanœ to amend the Gnstoms Tariff Ordinanoe 1906.

Whereas il is expédient to reduce the standard of proof in respect of which customs duties are payable on spirits imported into the Colony and Protectorate.

Be it therefore enacted by the Governor of the Colony of the Gambia with the advice and consent of the Législative Council thereof as follows viz :

I. From and after the twenty fifth day of April, 1905, there shall be charged on ail spirits imported and brought into the Colony and Protectorate the following duties :

Upon brandy and whisky of or under the strength of twelve and a half per cent under proof by Sykes' hydrometer and so in proportion for any greater strength :

Per impérial gallon or part thereof 4/-

Upon other spirits, except perfumes, of the strength of twelve and a half per cent under proof by Sykes' hydrometer and so in proportion for any greater or lesser strength:

Per impérial gallon or part thereof 4/-

Upon ail kinds of spirits sweetened so that the degree of strength cannot be ascertained by Sykes' hydrometer.

Per impérial gallon or part thereof 4/-

11. That portion of Schedule A to the Customs Tariff Ordinance 1905 which sets forth the duties payable in respect of spirits imported into the Colony or Protectorate is hereby repealed.
