The Electricity of the old " Chemistry and Electricity 99 has been transferred to the " Natural Philosophy 19 in the new édition, and has been wholly rewritten, made somewhat briefer, and brought fully down to the présent state of the science. There has also been added to the Appendix of the " Natural Philosophy " a chapter on the P kystes of the Atmosphère, or Meteorologv, containing ail the récent discoveries and théories in this important and interesting field.

As thus revised, the " Natural Philosophy " is complète

The "Chemistry" has been carefully rewritten and expanded so as to fill the space occupied by the Electricity in the old édition. New chapters on Crystallography and Organic Chemistry, from the freshest sources, have been added, and the description of Eléments has been enlarged.

This édition (June, 1869) gives the nomenclature as adopted by the London Chemical Society, as taught at Harvard Collège, and as generally used in scientific journals.

The new édition of the " Astronomy " contains, in addition ito the Astronomy proper, a chapter on the Conservation of Energy and an account of the Constellations ', illustrated by 17 fùll-page Star Maps from Argelander.
