Since 1 had the honour of writing to you this morning I bave seen His Excellency the governor, and His Excellency the gênerai Zichy, and I hasten to inform you, Sir, that gênerai Zichy has assured me that whatever measures it may be necessary to take for the sake of preserving order, there is no intention of bombarding the city of Venice.
