Il n'existe pas d'histoire scientifique de la littérature anglaise pour la période qui nous intéresse. La Cambridge History of Modem Literalnre n'atteint pas encore (1912) le xyiii" siècle. On peut consulter :

tienaent du genre « morceaux choisis » plutôt que du genre « histoire littéraire ».
