Page 113. — I. Vierge de Schoorel. Schoorel, Dutch painter (i 495-1 562), who lived in Italy a long time. In Rome he was overseer of the Vatican gallery, but he returned to die in Utrecht. The picture referred to, " The death of Mary" cannot be attributed to him with any degree of certainty.
