XVIII OPINION DE QUELQUES JURISCONSULTES
N°11, Hospital Street, First Floor, North British Chambers, Montreal, 12th Sept, 1879,
DEAR SIR AND confrère,
Lhave been much gratified by an examination of the advañce shoets of your new edition of the Civil Code, I perceive that your plan has been, to produce the text of the Code itself, indicating the changes in the law which it effected, and those which have since been made; to reproduce the authorities by which it was supported by the codifiers; adding to them many others of weight and importance ; and to supplement these by copious references to the jurisprudence of our Courts. Such facilities for information as this plan | is calculated to afford, must be of inestimable value both to the student and to the practitioner; and the execution of it appears to me to deserve as high appreciation as its conception. I find your collection and analysis of the authorities, elaborate and accurate ; and I must congratulate you upon the production of a work which reflects so much credit upon yourself, and upon the bar, of which we are both members. It is fortunate that we have among us professional men who will devote so much time and learning to works which must be so limited in their circulation, but you will certainly have the satisfaction of f knowing that no practicing advocate in Quebec, can afford to dispense with
your book.
I remain, dear Sir and confrère, Very sincerely yours,
E, Lef, de Bellefeuille, Esquire, Adrocate, &c. J, J. C. ABBOTT,
E, Lef. de Bellefeuille, éer, avocat.
MoN CHER MONSIEUR,
