The following ‘“ notes ” are reproduced, almost without alteration, from a document of the Quebec Legislature. They are written in the style peculiar to blue-books without any pretensions to literary merit. We think however that they arc of interest from more than one point of view.

At the end of these notes is an article of a very different nature. :tis a mere fanciful sketch but, under its g. nd lively form, it contains historical inrormation which, if not all unpublished hitherto, is none the less valuable.
