S. ALGE AND WALTER RIPPMANN

" We know of no better book to start French on." — Journal of Education.

SPECIAL NOTE. — It having become necessaiy to reset this woik the publishers hâve enibraced the opportunity to add several other featuies to this most successful First French Book which will further increase its usefulness, and will, they hope, be appreciated by teacheis.

In resetting the book, the size of the page has been increasedto that shown on page 4, but it should be distinctly understood that the text has in no way been altered, thus allowing both the new and pievious printings to be used side by side.

The supplenientarv exercises by Mr. H. C. Norman, hitheito issued sepaiately at 6d., hâve now been incorporated in the work.

The small reproductions of the season pictures are now printed in colours, and will be found a great improvement.

The early lessons of the First French Book in the transcription of the International Phonetic dissociation are issued separately at 6d. net, for those teachers who prefer to begin with phonetic script only.

Fourth Edition, Enlargecl and Revised. Extra Fcap. %vo. Pp. 14.+ I ^9. Price is. 6d. net.
