13. à travailler : the préposition à with the infinitive is often

used instead of en with the présent participle to express means, manner, employmcnt, supposition ; e.g. —

il s'est ruiné à bâtir ce palais.

j'ai passé la soirée à lire.

on deviendrait bientôt égoïste à vivre ainsi.
