ORAL PRACTICE

1. ASSIGNED VOCABULARIES: (No. 1-40, pp. 250-291). Each one of those assigned vocabularies ought to be PRACTICED ORALLY, IN CLASS, before the students will MEMORIZE THE MEANINGS OF THE WORDS WITH THE HELP OF THE GENERAL VOCABU- LARY (p. 239-376) in connection with each lesson.

2. HEAD PARAGRAPHS [the NARRATIVES preceding the exercises in every one of the forty lessons (p. 75-218)] ought to be read aloud, in class, until fluency in pronunciation is obtained. DIREC- TIONS FOR PROPER LINKING of the words are provided to that effect (p. 230-237) in connection with each lesson. (See DIRECTIONS below.)

3. Practice in CONVERSATION should be given great emphasis, and students will practice orally each question and answer until memorized. (Questions 1-870, in the forty lessons.)
