L. il 37. Pompe: hère mourning costume. The word primarily had référence to the solemnities — hence the trappings, etc — of a public procession. This sensé still lingers in the phrase pompes funèbres. This prolonged apostrophe of C. to her costume is one of the worst examples of a style that has been so often noticed already.
L. 1142. voici venir : 'hère cornes,' etc., idiom ; the infinitive depending on the verb in voici, as if vois-ici venir.
