THE GROTTO OF CALYPSO
[FÉNELON (1661-1715), Archbishop of Cambray. One of the most distinguished of that âge of éloquent men, the reign of Louis XIV. His bestknown book, from which the présent extract is taken, is Télémaque, which he wrote for the instruction of his royal pupil, the Duc de Bourgogne, grandson of Louis XIV. , giving it the form of a continuation of the story of the wanderings of Ulysses. His style is singularly clear, polished and exact. ]
