between the first day of november and the thirtieth day of april inclusively, and inthe month of april for the period included between the first day of may and the thirty-first day of october inclusively, who offers satisfactory security for the execution of such work.

The council may, by resolution, order that such work shall be given out by the road inspector for the period of one

ear, in the same mauner and under the same conditions as in the preceding article.

The public notice required by the foregoing paragraphs may be given either in writing or verbally, and applies to the case of by-roads regulated

$29. All works on by-roads leading exclusively to ferries or toli-bridges are made by the owners or occupants of such ferries or toll-bridges.

S30. The work on any other by-road is done at the expense ob the corporation of the municipality.
